Businesses invest time, money and people into delivering an important, high value project. In the excitement of a great idea or new initiative, they rush through implementation and fail to review each stage of the project. From identifying the problem through to implementing the solution, a multitude of decisions were made and each one delivered results. Were they validated? What were the learnings?
Documenting and analysing the stages of a project takes time and resources that are already focused on delivery but its an essential step of project management that helps organisations to improve and grow. To assist with this, The Project Lab now offers a Project Implementation Review (PIR) process.
A PIR looks at a project from beginning to end and provides an unbiased, independent view of what worked and what didn’t. Crucially, the review indicates why something worked or didn’t. These learnings can be applied to improve the current project or integrated into the development of future projects.
Our methodical approach taken over three days will validate whether the project was delivered on time, on budget and in full. Where did the project deviate from the plan, and why? What were the causes of change and what needs to change to keep the next project on track? All findings are included in a PIR report that empowers the client to adapt and improve for the next project.
