Make it Matter this Christmas

Whilst many of us enjoy the festive period, we acknowledge it can be one of the most challenging times of the year for many of our own team, family or members of our community.

We are calling on our network to Make it Matter and participate in the Salvation Army Hamper Drive to support our local Tasmanian community.

We're proudly supporting the Glenorchy City Corps who are currently preparing for the festive period, which includes putting together hampers, as part of their regular emergency food relief program. We will be contributing to the hampers which supplement essential items for people experiencing homelessness, or who otherwise could not afford to purchase adequate supplies to feed themselves and their families.

How you can contribute

You can donate essential items, money or promote the Hamper Drive amongst your extended community.

Contributions need to be received by Thursday the 9th of December 2021 to make it to those in need. Collection boxes are available in our Hobart and Launceston offices for non-perishable items – let’s make a difference and see how many we can fill!

Hobart - Level 3 85 Collins Street Hobart

Launceston - 1/62 Patterson Street Launceston

The Glenorchy City Corps have identified a shortage of toiletries and hygiene items in particular the following items:
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Body wash / soap
  • Deodorant
  • Toothbrushes and Toothpaste
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Toilet paper
  • Hand wash and hand sanitiser
  • Moisturiser and other personal care items

You know those extra little shampoos and conditioners you collect from your hotel stays (if you've been lucky enough to travel!) – they’re perfect!

Your donation is making a positive difference to people who are experiencing homelessness, addiction, disadvantage or a family crisis. Your support will help provide them with a pathway to independence, hope and a brighter future - The Salvation Army.

Donating money

We know not everyone has the time or desire for shopping but still wants to contribute….if you have a few extra coins and would like to support the purchase of hamper items, please pass onto someone from The Project Lab team in our Hobart or Launceston Office and they will happily take care of the shopping for you!

All donations are welcome!
